I read a book a long time ago about a young knight and his peasant squire. The knight is a huge toolshed and in the twist at the end, he dies. Like in the last four pages. Suddenly, you realize the book's about the squire. I think the title had some dichotomy of light/dark and something about hawks or falcons. I may have misremembered the plot somewhat, but I remember my shock at the end and want to find it and read it again. Can anyone help? Google has failed me.
